Vineet Vohra Master Class

We are organizing a 2-day intensive Photography Master Class with the world-renowned street photographer Vineet Vohra.

 

Limited to just 10 participants. The participation fee is $300 per person, and $250 for FOTON Derneği members. The event will be held in Istanbul on October 4-5. The language is English.

 

Vineet will share his knowledge and techniques in critique sessions and on-field, one-on-one interactions with the participants. The shooting and theoretical sessions will cover the following topics:

  • Do’s and Don’ts
  • Ways to overcome the fear of close-ups
  • An in-depth look at the elements of composition
  • Avoiding common mistakes while composing
  • The concept of layering in photography
  • Gestalt principles and their application in photography
  • Developing a personal style
  • Using environmental perspectives
  • Seeing and creatively using light
  • A video documentary on how images are created during the shoot
  • Practical tips on how to fine-tune visions

During the workshop, the following topics will be discussed:

  • Technique, composition, vision, and intent
  • Creative use of the camera and lens
  • Suggestions on how to shape your photography career
  • How to publish your work
  • How to work on a story

On the second day of the workshop:

  • Participants will present their work
  • A detailed review session with Vineet will be conducted
  • Each participant will have the opportunity to evaluate their own projects in detail

Throughout the 2-day workshop, the focus will generally be on the following topics:

  • Working on a theme and focusing on projects.
  • The art of street photography and storytelling.
  • How to edit your photographs.
  • Photography assignments to apply theories while walking with a mentor in Istanbul.

Participants should bring the following to the workshop:

  • A digital camera, preferably with a fixed wide-angle lens (a lens with a 35mm focal length would be ideal). You can also bring your long telephoto lenses and zoom lenses for personal work.
  • A laptop with software to edit/tone your photographs
  • A notebook to take notes during the workshop

Note: $300 is the master class fee only. Participants are expected to pay on their own for travel (outstation and local), stay, food and other expenses that they might incur.

Other events at the festival are free of charge and will be announced in the coming days with limited quotas.
