2023 Istanbul Street Photography Festival!
Istanbul Street Photography Festival (ISPF) is a well-attended event representing street photography with different approaches and bringing street photographers together. The common goal is to share through street photography using the advanced possibilities of photography and to encourage participants to participate in an event they will enjoy.
It is held internationally for the fourth time in 2023.

How does it work?
1 – Upload Photos
After determining the category you want to participate in, fill out the form online.
Deadline: October 8, 2023
2 – The Jury Chooses
The festival jury evaluates the photos submitted to them and determines the winners for 3 categories and finalists.
3 – Winners Announced
The winning and finalist photos will be announced on October 22, 2023, at Tarık Zafer Tunaya Cultural Center.
Participation Rules
- All submitted images must fall under the category of street photography.
- Only photographs taken within the last 3 years are accepted.
- Any location within the public realm, worldwide, is acceptable: indoors and outdoors
(i.e. streets, beach, train, park, restaurants, dirt road, etc.) - There are no restrictions on the type / brand of camera used.
Photos taken with a phone are also accepted. - Photos may be either black/white or color.
- Photographs that previously received awards can also participate.
- Maximum 5 Istanbul photos can be uploaded.
- The jury may request the original of the winning photo.
- Images must be .jpg/jpeg files, no bigger than 5mb.
- Watermarked and/or signed images will not be accepted.
- Open to all participants from around the world 18 years or older.
Festival Categories
SINGLES CATEGORY
You can participate in the festival with as many single photos as you wish.
Photos can be from anywhere in the world.
- Participation Fees:
1 Single Photo – $10
3 Single Photos – $15
6 Single Photos – $20
SERIES CATEGORY
You can participate in the festival with 5-10 photographs in each series.
Photos can be from anywhere in the world.
- Participation Fees:
1 Series – $25
2 Series – $40
3 Series – $50
ISTANBUL CATEGORY
You can participate with a maximum of 5 Istanbul photos.
Only photos taken in Istanbul should be submitted.
2023 Judges
FAQ
How many photos can a person send at most?
In the 2023 event, we have two paid and one free category.
There is no photo submission limit in the categories of Single and Series (series 5-10 photos). Various discounts are applied for multiple photo submissions.
You can participate with a maximum of 5 photos in the Istanbul category, free of charge.
Can I participate with the photos I took with my mobile phone?
Yes, it is possible to participate in the festival with any brand / model camera and smart mobile phone.
Is your payment system secure?
Your payments are provided securely with the infrastructure of iyzico, Turkey’s largest fintech brand, where you can make transactions with credit cards from anywhere in the world.

How does the jury choose?
Juries cannot see the names of the participants; they see the photographs with the participant’s registration numbers. Each jury first determines own winners.
Subsequently, the photos suggested by each jury member for the relevant category are collected in public folders and evaluated collectively.
Finally, winner photos for each category and finalists are determined.
Will the photos be exhibited?
An exhibition will be held for the finalists among the photographs submitted for the Istanbul Street Photography Festival. If sponsors are found, exhibition photos can be turned into a book.
When is the Award Ceremony?
The award ceremony, where the finalist and winner photos will be announced, will be held on October 2023 at the Tarık Zafer Tunaya Cultural Center.
Copyright?
Our organization does not have a photograph of any photographer. The copyrights of the photos belong to their owners. Photographs can only be used for promotional activities. Finalist photos are published on our website and social networks with the photographer’s name.
Istanbul Street Photography Festival is an international non-profit event that exhibits street photography in Istanbul.
ISPF is an Istanbul-based FOTON Association project whose goal is to enrich urban projects with cultural projects.
